The death toll in a collapsed building in Bangladesh rose to 656 as rescuers found more bodies in the wreckage Monday, officials said. Forty-six bodies were recovered since Sunday evening in the rubble of an eight-storey building that housed five garment factories in Savar, 25 kilometres north-west of the capital Dhaka. More than 2,400 people were injured in the accident, according to a report of DPA. Several people were still unaccounted for, an official at the disaster management control room said. Bangladesh has been trying to implement a new safety plan devised in consultation with the International Labour Organization.
