The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its strong condemnation of the use of excessive force by members of the army and police against unarmed Iraqi civilians during their peaceful demonstrations. The OIC Secretariat renewed its urgent call to the Iraqi government and the rest of the political parties in Iraq to pursue ways of dialogue and peaceful means and to respond to the demands of the demonstrators, in order to ensure peace and security and to preserve the unity of the Iraqi people.
