Egypt on Wednesday denied reports that a rocket that hit the southern Israeli city of Eilat had been fired from the Sinai Peninsula. "We have not been informed of any violations along the Egyptian border," an Egyptian security official told DPA. "Sinai is under Egyptian security control mainly in the border areas with Israel and the Gaza Strip," said the official.
