Authorities confirmed a third death in the duel explosions Monday at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Boston police commissioner Ed Davis confirmed the number at a press conference. The number of injured stands at more than 100, officials said. Davis said many of the victims suffered "serious" injuries. CNN reported 141 people were injured and that at least 10 limbs were amputated. The bomb scattered ball bearings, which at high speed cause extreme lower limb injuries, CNN said. Investigators said the investigation is being led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). It was described at the news conference as a criminal investigation "that is a potential terrorism investigation," according to a report of DPA.
