Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny said on Friday that he would run for president in Russia's next election, according to dpa. "I want to be president, I want to change life in the country,"Navalny said told broadcaster Dozhd TV. "Millions of people (are living) in misery and poverty" despite the Russia's vast oil and gas wealth. "I would like European standards in Russia," said Navalny, who according to the latest polls is one of the most influential opponents of President Vladimir Putin and is accused by his critics of ties to ultra-nationalists. Russia holds a presidential election in 2016.
