Border Guard patrols all through the Kingdom have foiled an attempt to smuggle some 6144 kilograms of the Gatt drug early this month and intercepted the trafficking of 83 weapons and more than 5500 live ammunition across the border, it was reported here today. In a statement, Brig. General Mohammed bin Saad Al-Ghamdi, Media Spokesman of the General Directorate of Border Guard, said his personnel were successful to apprehend 6851 infiltrators within a week while two were arrested for trying to help infiltrators sneak into the border. While on duty, the border guard faced 53 cases of shooting, leading to the injure of eight soldiers.
