Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, said that the Pledge Document introduced by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, confirms his commitment to unite Arabs and Muslims. In a joint news conference last night with Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi, he said, "There is confidence by the Arab leaders in the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his sincere efforts," noting in this context the Arab peace initiative of 2002, which was introduced in the Beirut summit and adopted by the league. He stressed that the initiative was an opportunity for peace the Israelis missed, and said, "This initiative is still the nucleus to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict."
