KUWAIT — The 162nd Preparatory Ministerial Meeting for the 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) discussed the latest regional and international developments, most notably the developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan is attending the meeting, chaired by Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the current ministerial session Abdullah Al-Yahya, in Kuwait on Thursday. The meeting is discussing and finalizing the agenda of the 45th session of the GCC Supreme Council, scheduled to be held on Sunday, December 1 in Kuwait City. Leaders and heads of state of the GCC states will attend the summit. During the preparatory meeting, the GCC foreign ministers reviewed the progress of the joint Gulf action, ways to further enhance and develop it. The meeting underscored the importance of an immediate ceasefire and reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue. The meeting also discussed a set of reports related to following up on the implementation of the decisions of the 44th GCC Supreme Council, in addition to issues related to dialogue and strategic relations of the GCC states with other countries and groups. From the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Ambassador to Kuwait Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid; Deputy Foreign Minister for Multilateral International Affairs and Supervisor General of the Ministry's Agency for Public Diplomacy Affairs Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rassi; Advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Al-Yahya; Assistant Director General of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Walid Al-Samaeel, and Director of the Department of the GCC Anas Al-Wasidi.
