A spokesman of the Ministry of Interior today gave a detailed statement of illegal items recently confiscated by the concerned security authorities from as many as 834 smugglers and drug peddlers, including 328 Saudi nationals and 506 different nationals residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A previous statement said the smuggled and transmitted drug items into the Kingdom during the months of October, November and December 2012 valued SAR 1,313,721,825. The statement explained that some skirmishes took place while the security forces apprehend, chase or pursue the drug traffickers in a number of operations resulting in the killing of six and injury of 36 from both sides. The total of the drugs and psychotropic substances captured in these operations are as following: 6,056 kg of raw heroin, 709 kg of heroin prepared for promotion, 13,940,464 kg of hashish, 1,697,386 of narcotic pills, 1,266 kg of crack drug, 157,700 mg of cocaine, 36,200 mg of opium drug, 77,332 tablets subjected to organized medical circulation. The source added that the cash confiscated from the accused was SAR 37,083,510.
