Madinah and Al-Yaum newspapers commented on Mikati's resignation saying it leaves Lebanon in a state of political and security vacuum. Al-Watan newspaper highlighted in this regard Mikati's call for forming a government of national salvation representatives of all political currents and groups. Finally on a different subject, Al-Bilad newspaper criticized US President Barack Obama's remark that he came to Israel and the Palestinian territories just to listen to the officials and not to offer new initiatives to try to revive peace talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
