Dhuwaihi said that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has been preoccupied with the development of the housing sector in effective, innovative and fast methods, noting the establishment of King Abdullah Foundation for His Parents For Developmental Housing and the provision of generous support for the Ministry of Housing to establish 500,000 housing units in various parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. For his part, the Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah pointed out that reform initiatives, which were announced in 2011 to accelerate progress for addressing social issues including employment, provision of housing, small projects and development programs, have been reflected on the economic performance in general in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, pointing that commodity exports in the Kingdom amounted in 2012 to SR 1,485 billion, up 9 per cent compared to the year 2011, non-oil commodity exports amounted to SR 183 billion, up 4 percent from 2011.
