A Mi-8 helicopter crashed in Chechnya when landing in Khankala, Grozny's suburbs, under poor visibility conditions, the Russian Investigative Committee (SK) told Itar-Tass. On Saturday morning, at about 05:00, a Mi-8 helicopter of Military Unit 2464 crashed when landing at the Khankala airfield in poor visibility after it carried out a military mission. Three crewmembers died in the crash, and one with a head injury, an open shinbone fracture and other injuries is hospitalized, an SK source said. The SK 505th military investigation department based in Khankala has opened a criminal case on charges of violation of the flight safety regulations. The helicopter was almost completely destroyed in the crash.
