Two European Islamic Scholars have expressed their appreciation and pride to choose Madinah as the capital of Islamic culture for 2013, as pillar of faith and first capital of the Islamic State since the time of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). In statements to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), they valued the leading role played by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the service of Islam and Muslims across the world. They also highly appreciated the patronage of Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense of the official launching ceremony of Madinah Capital of Islamic Culture 2013. The two European Muslim Scholars are Sheikh Naim Trnava, the Grand Mufti of Kosovo and Dr. Baheej Mulla Hewish, a member of the World Supreme Council for Mosques in the Kingdom of Spain, who attended the occasion.
