Hilal won the Crown Prince trophy after beating the traditional Riyadh-based rival of Al-Nasr on penlty-area kicks 4-2. The proper time ended zero all. The Italian referee ordered a two-half extra time. The first half was also goalless. When Al-Hilal's striker Mohammed Al-Shalhoup scored from a penalty, most fans, observers and commentators thought the game was over, but Al-Nasr's striker snatched an equalizer in the injury time of the second extra half from a header after receiving a cross kick from his right wing in the penalty area. Then the Crown Prince handed over silver medals to Al-Nasr President and players, wishing them good luck. He then awarded Al-Hilal's President Prince Abdulrahman bin Musaed bin Abdulaziz and players with the golden cup and medals, congratulating them on the 11th achievement. The match was attended by Prince Khalid bin Fahd bin Khalid; Prince Bandar bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman; Prince Khalid bin Saad; Prince Dr. Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Muncipal and Rural Affairs; Prince Nawaf bin Mohammed; other princes; ministers; a number of civil and military officials and a big number of football-lovers.
