Nasr redeemed its lost glory after a decade by regaining the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Cup by upsetting Al-Hilal at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh on Wednesday. Brazilian Elton Jose opened the score for Al-Nasr from the spot and Abdul Aziz Al-Dosari scored the equalizer for Al-Hilal. A few minutes later, Rayan Bilal clinched the winner for Al-Nasr in front of more than 70,000 fans. Besides the historical victory over its city rival, Al-Nasr players brought back their team to the track as the team suffered a bad luck after winning the same cup in 1998. Prince Sultan Bin Fahd, Chairman of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare and President of the Saudi Football Federation, presented the cup and gold medals to Al-Nasr players. Al-Hilal players took the silver medals. Al-Hilal controlled the possession and ruled the midfield. Hilal coach was suspended for the match by the SAFF Disciplinay Committee. The only threat created by Al-Nasr in the first half came after 10 minutes when Elton shot from close straight into the hands of Badr Al-Deayea. In the 16th minute, Nawaf Al-Temyat sent a cross to Ahmed Al-Fridai beating the Al-Nasr defenders but the advanced goalkeeper Kamel Al-Wabari denied Al-Hilal's attempt. Al-Hilal continued its pressure on young Al-Nasr players whose defense stood firm. In the 43rd minute, Al-Hilal's Abdul Aziz Al-Dosari lost a golden chance to score when he headed the ball just few meters off Al-Wabari who brilliantly saved Al-Nasr. Three minutes after the break, Rayan Bilal raced into Al-Hilal box but Al-Deayea tackled him conceding a penalty. Former Steaua Bucurest midfielder Elton sent the ball to the left side of Al-Deayea to give Al-Nasr lead in the 48th minute. It took Al-Hilal only eight minutes to equalize when Abdul Aziz Al-Dosari fired a 20-yard shot to the far left side of Al-Wabari. In the 67th minute, Rayan Bilal received the ball after an error from Abdul Aziz Al-Khathran of Hilal and he cracked a powerful shot from the left edge of the box into Al-Deayea's net. However, Al-Hilal still holds the record after having won the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Cup seven times while Al-Nasr after Wednesday's victory came second with three cups. Being the champion of one of the Saudi season's competitions, Al-Nasr booked a place in the next King Fahd Cup for champions, the competition which kicks off after the end of the Saudi League with participation of eight teams. __
