At least 11 people died and more than 50 were wounded in a series of bomb blasts in a busy commercial area of the southern Indian city of Hyderabad on Thursday, officials said. Local media reported that at least 15 people died. Federal Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said he had received information that 11 people had died in two blasts that took place in quick succession. Eight people died in the first blast and three in the second, dpa quoted Shinde as saying. He said with many injured the death toll could rise. The bombs were placed on bicycles, according to preliminary investigations, Shinde said.
