French Economy Stagnates in 2012

The French economy posted zero growth in 2012 after shrinking 0.3 per cent quarter-on-quarter in the fourth quarter, the national statistics agency INSEE said Thursday.
Growth was down sharply on 2011, when the economy grew by 1.7 per cent. The government has forecast 0.8 per cent growth for 2013 but in recent days hinted it will revise that target downwards, dpa reported.
