Saudi Geologist Advisor and Member of Teaching Staff of the Department of Geology and Geophysics of the Faculty of Science at King Saud University (KSU) Professor Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin La'boun participated in a 25-days scientific exploration expedition to Antarctica, which began on December 27, 2012 and concluded on January 20, 2013. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Professor La'boun said that 96 members from all disciplines representing 20 countries took part in the expedition which was organized by the Geological Society of America, pointing out that the expedition aimed to conduct exploratory scientific, geological, and climatic studies as well as for wildlife of animals, plants, and seas in Antarctic continent.
