Five people, among them one French national, were killed in an attack on a bank in Senegal's Casamance region, local media reported Saturday. According to dpa, armed rebels suspected of belonging to the Movement of the Democratic Forces of Casamance (MDFC) attacked a bank and several shops in Kafoutine, southern Senegal Friday night after clashing with the army, the Le Quotidien newspaper reported. Two rebels, a woman and her child on a motorcycle, and a Frenchman died in the crossfire, according to the paper. A Senegalese soldier was also wounded. The West African country's press agency, however, said that the French national had already been dead before the attack.
