An army spokesman says that seven Senegalese soldiers have been killed in an attack in the country's southern Casamance region, the Associated Press reported. Col. Abdourahim Kebe said late Monday that rebel fighters with the region's Movement of the Democratic Forces started attacking a southern village Sunday, and the army came in to fight them and clear them from the village.
