Jazirah newspaper said that in the footsteps of Bashar Al-Assad, Nouri Al-Maliki has stepped up his defiance of the popular will embodied in the popular demonstrations in the northern and western provinces of Iraq to demand their legitimate rights to halt discrimination and marginalization faced by them. The newspaper affirmed that Al-Maliki's defiance is clearly demonstrated in the allotment of articles and regulations for punishing and isolating them (protestors): the two articles of "terrorism 4" and accountability and justice regulation are devoted exclusively to chasing the Sunnis and this is evident in the fact that no politician from other communities has ever been held accountable or followed up (in such discriminatory chases). The newspaper stated that the exclusion, marginalization and the imposition of unfair judgments on the Sunnis pushed them to a revolution, especially after their women and young people were thrown in prisons of Al-Maliki and transferred from their provinces to the Interior Ministry detention centers in Baghdad. Al-Sharq newspaper commented on Russia's position towards Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad. It said, "The change in Russia's remarks does not reflect a true change in attitudes: its arms are still flowing (in Syria) and its material and political support is continuing (for Al-Assad regime) which Moscow should quickly reconsider before losing what is irreplaceable, which would be more than its ally Bashar Al-Assad." --More
