One person was killed and at least nine injured after an earthquake struck Indonesia's Aceh province Tuesday, an official said. The magnitude-6.0 quake occurred at 5:22 am (1022 GMT Monday) with an epicentre 15 kilometres south-west of provincial capital Banda Aceh, the geophysics agency said. It had a depth of 84 kilometres. An 8-year-old girl was killed and nine people in Pidie district were injured by falling debris as a result of the quake, the local emergency agency said. District secretary Sayed Muliadi said six of the victims were being treated for serious injuries. He said more than 100 houses were damaged, according to a report of DPA.
