A leopard blamed for killing 15 people in Nepal has been shot dead, local media reported Friday according to dpa. The leopard that allegedly killed mostly women and children in the western district of Baitadi last year was killed Thursday by a police team, the Kathmandu Post reported. The big cat was trapped when it entered a shed to prey on a domestic animal and was shot, police said. Local authorities had ordered the animal to be killed last year. It killed its last victim in October. Police, soldiers and forestry officers were deployed and a bounty announced for the capture or killing of the leopard.
