The Council of Arab Information Ministers concluded its 44th session held at the headquarters of the Secretariat General of the Arab League (AL) here today under the chairmanship of Yemen's Minister of Information Ali Ahmad Al-Amrani and the participation of Dr. Nabil El-Araby, AL Secretary General. Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, led the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the meeting. In a statement, the ministers expressed solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain against some biased media attacks and rejected the provocation and harm some Arab countries were receiving from some media channels who are not respecting the Arab Media Honor Charter and other media charters. In this regard, the meeting forwarded Bahrain's claim against Leban Group for Information to the General Assembly of the Arab Broadcasting Union, Arabsat and Nilesat to judge whether the television was observing the agreements and contracts it has concluded with them. The Arab Information Council will be informed of the result of the investigation later. The Arab ministers of information called on the Arab Foreign Affairs Ministers Council to take a unified political stance against countries who manage to jam satellites work. They also called on each sister ministry to forge regulations criminalizing cybernetic piracy. They urged the AL Secretariat General to evaluate the Arab foreign media plan to pave the way for more effective Arab media activity in the near future. --More
