UN Security Council to Convene on Mali Conflict

The UN Security Council decided after a French request to hold closed-door "informal consultations" Monday on the situation in Mali.
According to dpa, the council president, Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khan, said in an urgent message to the group's 15 members that discussions will be in relation with Mali, where French jet fighters have widened attacks on militants threatening the government in Bamako.
