A plane belonging to Romanian national air carrier has been struck by lightning as it landed in Istanbul. Nobody was injured. Tarom airlines said the aircraft traveling from Bucharest with 38 passengers landed safely Saturday evening despite the incident. It sustained light damage and was grounded in Istanbul to undergo tests. The flight back to Bucharest late Saturday was cancelled, according to a report of the Associated Press. Some passengers were redirected to another flight, Tarom said Sunday, while others were given hotel accommodation in Istanbul.
