A number of Saudi officials have emphasized the importance of "Saudi Arabia's Archaeological Masterpieces Through The Ages" currently in progress at Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, the United States of America, its role in highlighting the historical and civilization dimensions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the introduction of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's great heritage to the world. In statements, they pointed out that the Exhibition which has achieved great successes during its tour of four European countries, has contributed to introduce a true image of the historical status of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and highlight its archaeological sites, and its contributions to civilization and humanity throughout the ages. The officials included Mayor of Makkah Dr. Osama Fadhel Al-Bar, Mayor of Madinah Dr. Khalid Taher, the Chairman of Board of Directors of Saudi Telecommunications Company and Member of Board of Directors of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Suqair, and Member of Majlis Al-Shura and Member of Advisory Committee for Antiquities and Museums of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, Professor of Antiquities and Islamic History at King Saud University Dr. Ahmed Omar Al-Zaili'e. The exhibition was opened by Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Smithsonian Foundation Wayne Clough in Washington, DC, on 1st Muharram 1434 AH, in its first leg for three months in the United States of America.
