As many as 8000 female and male students have qualified for the next step of the National Olympic Scientific Contest in the Kingdom, organized by King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundtion for Talent and Innovation (Mawhiha) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The contest's first phase witnessed the competition of more than 52,000 students in the intermediate and secondary academic levels on the fields of innovation and scientific research. They have presented more than 8000 scientific and innovatory projects in 180 exhibitions in the Kingdom. The qualifyers will compete on 2000 projects from 23 Rabia Al-Awal to 3 Rabia Al-Thani of this year in 52 exhibitions to be held in Riyadh, Makkah, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Dammam, Tabuk, Al-Joaf, Al-Hodood Al-Shimalia, Qassim, Hail, Assir, Jazan, Najran and Al-Baha. The finals of the contest will be held in Riyadh in March 2013, organizers said.
