Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain received here today directors general of the Arab News Agencies on the sidelines of the 40th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies held in Bahrain. During the reception, the Bahraini Prime Minister asserted that the GCC states support Arab and Islamic issues which are always the concern of the Kingdom of Bahrain's leadership and government, lauding the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its positive stances in supporting Arab and Muslim issues. Prince Khalifa called for developing the Arab media in order to keep abreast with latest modernization of media technologies and techniques. The Bahraini Prime Minister hailed the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for creation of the Gulf Union, stressing that this initiative will have a great contribution in developing joint action among the GCC Member Stats in order to achieve aspirations of the peoples and the aims of the Gulf and Arab unification and integration. The reception was attended by Bahraini Minister of State for Information Affairs Sameera Rajab; Qatari News Agency (QNA)'s General Director Ahmed Saad Al-Buainain, who is also chairman of the Federation of Arabian News Agencies; Director General of Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Hussain; and Secretary General of the Arab Federation of News Agencies Dr. Fareed Ayyar.
