Suspected Muslim militants killed three police officers and wounded three others Thursday in a part of Indonesia once torn by Muslim-Christian violence, dpa cited police as saying. The officers were conducting a routine patrol on motorcycles in Poso district in Central Sulawesi province when they were attacked, said national police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar. "We suspect the attackers are members of a terrorist group," he said. More than 1,000 people were killed in Muslim-Christian clashes in Poso more than a decade ago. A peace pact in 2001 ended the fighting, but sporadic violence continues. In October, two policemen and two suspected militants were killed in separate incidents in the same province.
