At least four suspected militants were killed in a gunbattle in India-administered Kashmir on Tuesday, police said. The fighting took place between an army-police team and the militants in a village near Sopore town, more than 50 kilometres north of the state capital Srinagar, dpa reported. "The encounter began after the militants opened fire when the security personnel surrounded two houses they were hiding in. Four militants have been killed in the gunbattle so far," district police chief Imtiaz Hussain said. No security personnel were injured in the gunbattle, he added.
