At least two policemen were injured in an attack on a police station in Benghazi in eastern Libya, dpa cited local media as reporting Thursday. The assault was mounted late Wednesday by unknown gunmen who hurled a bomb that hit a patrol outside the station, said Libya's state news agency LANA. One suspect was detained following the attack, which destroyed the patrol vehicle and damaged the front of the building, a security official told the agency. The official did not give details about the identity of the suspect or the motive for the assault. The attack is the latest act of violence in Benghazi, which was the birthplace of an armed uprising that deposed Moamer Gaddafi last year.
