The European Union will consider imposing more sanctions to North Korea, its foreign policy chief said Wednesday, after the Asian country launched a rocket that it said put a satellite in orbit, DPA reported. "The launch from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) earlier today is another step in a long-running attempt by the DPRK to acquire ballistic missile technology and is thus a clear violation of the DPRK's international obligations," Catherine Ashton said. "The EU will consider an appropriate response, in close consultation with key partners and in line with United Nations Security Council deliberations, including possible additional restrictive measures," she added in a statement. She called on North Korea to "comply without delay, fully and unconditionally" with UN resolutions, International Atomic Energy Agency agreements and the country's past "commitments towards denuclearization."
