The European Union on Friday denounced North Korea's attempt to launch a long-range rocket into orbit as a "clear violation" of the country's international obligations, as dpa reported. "I am deeply concerned about the dangerous and destabilizing actions undertaken by North Korea today," EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said in a statement. "Regardless of its stated purpose, today's attempted launch is a clear violation of North Korea's international obligations as set out in particular under UN Security Council Resolution 1874," she added.
