Five people have been confirmed dead and another four are missing after a ferry capsized early Sunday morning in central China's Hunan province, local authorities said Tuesday. The ferry, which was carrying four vehicles and 12 people, capsized around 3:40 a.m. in waters near the village of Pingshan in Anhua county, Xinhua quoted a county government spokesman as saying. Three of the boat's passengers, including its owner, have been rescued thus far. Two of the vehicles have also been recovered, the spokesman said. Rescuers are continuing to search for the missing. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
