Speakers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s parliaments expressed appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his sincere efforts for the progress of the GCC developmental march, congratulating him on the success of the surgical operation he has recently undergone in Riyadh. In a final communique of the 6th regular conference, the heads of Shura Councils, Houses of Representatives and National assemblies of the GCC member states, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, denounced the Iranian flagrant interference in the domestic affairs of the GCC member states, citing its conspiring against their national security, spreading the culture of sedition and sectarian rifts among its people and attempting to create chaos among their peoples. They confirmed their countries' rejection of the continuation of Iranian occupation of the United Arab Emirates three islands which they consider as integral parts of the UAE. They expressed regret that contacts with Iran in this regard resulted in nothing, calling for solving the issue through direct negotiations or resorting to international arbitration. They expressed concern about the European parliament's resolution in October 26, 2012, claiming that the UAE has committed some human rights violations. The GCC said this runs contrary of the cooperation agreement signed between the GCC and the EU on the mutual respect of national sovereignty and each side's national peculiarity. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the meeting was led by Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council.
