The Ministry of Health issued today a special report on its achievements, projects and health services. The report said that the number of health facilities set up by the Ministry of Health and its facilities has reached 251 hospitals, 2,109 centers for primary health care, in addition to specialized centers and medical cities and specific programs which employ more than 250,000 male and female employees. According to statistics last year, primary health care centers have received about 55 million patients while hospitals have received 11.5 million outpatients and emergency departments have received 20 million patients. More than 430,000 surgeries have been performed in addition to more than 256,000 births. In cases of the non-existence of beds in hospitals, the Ministry of Health has transferred patients to the private sector hospitals and has spent more than SR 500 million in this regard since the beginning of this year. The report showed that the projects of the Ministry of Health since the beginning of the year 1430AH until 1433AH reached 621 centers for primary health care, in addition to 47 operating hospitals with a total capacity of 4,770 beds, and the under construction Hospitals with their required equipment are 706 health centers, 128 hospitals, and a number of medical cities.
