At least 20 Colombian rebels have been killed in a government raid on a camp of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in the south-west near the border with Ecuador, the military said Monday. According to dpa, General Jorge Segura told radio network Caracol the attack in the province of Narino also involved airstrikes. The attack comes as FARC and the Colombian government are holding peace talks to ending the conflict that has ravaged the South American country for close to half a century.
