The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made - in a record time, remarkable and comprehensive development and progress that took the world by surprise, earning the country a prominent place among the comity of nations, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Dr Abdul-Latif bin Rashid Al- Zayani, has said. ''The UAE development model is a source of pride for Emiratis and all GCC citizens alike,'' he told the UAE news agency "WAM." Al Zayani said these achievements signify the far-sighted vision and firm determination of the UAE leadership to build a viable modern state that meets great aspirations of its people and takes its place in the rank of advanced nations. The GCC chief extended warm congratulations to the UAE leadership and people on its 41st national day. He also appreciated the vital role of the UAE, under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to bolster and advance the joint GCC action, cooperation and integration.
