Bahrain has recognized the establishment of the Syrian National Coalition of the Revolution Forces and Opposition as a legitimate representative of the Syrian people. In a statement, Bahrain's Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, expressed hope that his country's recognition of the Syrian opposition coalition would be form the first step to attract all segments of the Syrian society as a representative of the Syrian people's will to build a new Syria. He said Bahrain is looking forward to a political solution to the Syrian crisis and a stoppage of the sharp deterioration in the humanitarian situation in Syria.
