Implementing directives by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and under the guidance of Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Interior and General Supervisor of the Saudi National Campaign to Support the Brothers in Syria, the campaign has provided financial support worth SR 5.7 million (US$2 million) to support the Palestinian refugees residing in Syria who sought refuge in Lebanon and Jordan. A statement issued by the Office of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Amman said that this support will contribute to providing food aid to Palestinian refugees in Syria with an amount of US$2 million in collaboration with the UNRWA. The statement said that the Executive Director of the campaign Mubarak bin Saeed al-Bakr and Representative of the Commissioner General of UNRWA Peter Ford signed in Amman in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Fahd bin Abdul-Mohsen Al-Zaid yesterday a cooperation agreement at UNRWA's headquarters to implement a project aiming at providing the urgent food needs of the needy, the displaced Palestinians who are inside Syria, as well as the Palestinian refugees who sought refuge in Lebanon and Jordan, in the framework of the joint work between the national campaign, UNRWA and the World Food Programme. Commissioner General of UNRWA Filippo Grandi hailed in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) the continual support of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the program of the International Agency for Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. He said he is very grateful to Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul-Aziz, the campaign and the people of Saudi Arabia for their assistance to the Agency.
