The eighth forum designed to qualify would-be students on scholarships abroad concluded in Riyadh, it was reported here today. Over the last five days, some 2924 female and male who are selected to have their graduate and post-graduate studies abroad as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for External Scholarship, concluded a qualifying meeting during which they were acquainted to foreign educational environment. In interviews with the Saudi Press Agency following the forum, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Sabeel, Assistant Cultural Attache of the Saudi embassy in the U.S., said more than 90,000 female and male Saudi students are currently studying in U.S. universities and institutes. For his part, Fahd Al-Jumaa, Supervisor of the Follow-up Unit for Students in Language institutes at the Saudi Cultural office in Canada, said the number of Saudi students on scholarships in Canada is over 17,000. Deputy Chief of mission in Ireland, said the Saudis on scholarships in Ireland is a bit more than 2,000. In Britain, they are 17,000, said Dr. Mohammed bin Omer Al-Sabeel, Chief of the B.A. department at the Saudi Cultural Attache office in London.
