AlHijjah 29, 1433, Nov 14, 2012, SPA -- Libya's new government took the oath of office before the National Congress on Wednesday with 24 ministers including the premier, dpa quoted the official Libyan News Agency (LANA) as reporting. The government formed by Prime Minister Ali Zidan officially took over from an interim cabinet that has run the country since the fall of former leader Moamer Gaddafi last year. National Congress President Mohammed al-Magariaf said the handover to the new government "embodies the new, future Libya, the Libya of the glorious revolution of February 17," according to LANA. "Libya looks to the future with full optimism, determined to realize the great objectives for which thousands fell martyrs or were wounded or mutilated," al-Magariaf told Congress. Zidan took the oath along with his three deputy prime ministers, 19 ministers and one minister of state.
