UN: Staffer killed in disputed Abyei area of Sudan

AlHijjah 29, 1433, Nov 14, 2012, SPA -- The United Nations chief said a U.N. staffer was killed during unrest in the Abyei region disputed by Sudan and South Sudan, AP reported.
A spokesman for Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Wednesday that the U.N. chief condemned the killing, which happened some 48 hours earlier. Details were not immediately available.
The Abyei region is contested by both countries, and the border is largely unmarked.
