Japan To Hold General Election On December 16

AlHijjah 29, 1433, Nov 14, 2012, SPA - Japan will hold a general election on December 16 after Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda dissolves the lower house, the
Kyodo News agency reported Wednesday, citing a ruling Democratic Party of Japan official.
"I think I could dissolve the lower house Friday" if the main opposition Liberal Democratic Party makes promises on issues including electoral system reform, the premier said earlier in the day during a parliamentary debate with LDP president Shinzo Abe.
Kyoto said Noda told DPJ secretary general Azuma Koshiishi that he hoped to call a general election on December 16.
