AlHijjah 22, 1433, November 07, 2012, SPA -- Bahraini Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa welcomed Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's joining the 125th session of Ministerial Council of the Foreign Affairs Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States held in Manama today, alongside his GCC counterparts after recovery of an illness, wishing him continuous good health. In an opening address of the meeting, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa pointed out the importance of the session and the GCC forthcoming summit in spotlighting political issues and security threats. He expressed his country's appreciation of other GCC countries for their stances and support to overcome the critical circumstances which it witnessed recently, noting that the political circumstances and security threats will attach a special importance to the GCC foreign ministers meeting as well as the forthcoming summit amid the current circumstances and confirming the importance of the GCC working to fix the pillars of security and stability in the region on bases of common interests with all countries. "The challenges we are facing require a unified foreign policy in order to achieve full GCC citizenship that reflect our cohesion and constant policies," he said. He added that the GCC people pin hope on the outcomes of the 33rd GCC Summit in achieving their aspirations, wishing the GCC leaders every success. --More
