Lavrov urges Syria's dissident ex-premier to help end unrest

AlHijjah 21, 1433, Nov 6, 2012, SPA --Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov Tuesday said he had urged Syria's dissident former prime minister, Riad Hijab, to help unite the opposition and end the 20-month violence in the country, dpa reported.
"Riad Hijab was willing to listen to us and we are ready to work with him and other factions of the opposition in this regard," Lavrov told reporters through an interpreter in the Jordanian capital Amman.
