AlHijjah 20, 1433, Nov 5, 2012, SPA -- On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel launched here today the Saudi International Space and Aeronautics Technology Conference 2012 which is held in association with the 25th Planetary Congress of the Association of Space Explorers. A speech ceremony was held on this occasion, during which Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, delivered a speech in which he thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for patronizing the event and expressed thanks to Dr. Al-Suwaiyel and government and private bodies for organizing the activities of the conference. Prince Sultan said that the conference is attracting more than 100 astronauts from 19 countries, stressing that such an event reflects the Kingdom's leading position in all fields. "Before the start of the conference, my colleagues the astronauts expressed admiration for Saudi Arabia's great investments in the field of developing national potentials. This was reflected in King Abdullah Scholarships Program which sent more than 150,000 students to the best universities in 30 countries," Prince Sultan said. --More
