AlHijjah 19, 1433, Nov 4, 2012, SPA -- New York Governor Andrew Cuomo warned Sunday of a housing crisis with tens of thousands of people in homes without heat or displaced by super storm Sandy as a cold snap approached. "People are in homes that are uninhabitable. It's going to become increasingly clear that they're uninhabitable when the temperature drops and the heat doesn't come on," Cuomo told a news conference. "We're going to have tens of thousands of people that need housing solutions right away." According to dpa, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said it was likely that housing would be needed for 30,000 to 40,000 people in New York City alone. "I don't know that anyone has ever taken this many people and found housing for them overnight," Bloomberg said, according to broadcaster CNN. As overnight temperatures drop near freezing, Bloomberg said the cold was the "most pressing" challenge in the aftermath of the storm.
