AlHijjah 15, 1433, Oct 31, 2012, SPA - U.S. President Barack Obama will travel to New Jersey Wednesday to view damage caused by Hurricane Sandy, White House spokesman Jay Carney said Tuesday. Carney said in a statement that President Obama will join New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a Republican who praised the president's leadership during the storm, in viewing the damage. The storm “is not yet over," President Obama said Tuesday at Red Cross headquarters. He said there are still risks of flooding and downed power lines, and he called the storm “heartbreaking for the nation." The president offered his thoughts and prayers to those affected. He said, “America is with you." Obama said he told government officials coordinating the response that there was “no excuse for inaction."
